Regardless of the chaos happening in this present life, I am having IE 5.5 browser problems.

See, it's like this.

I'm connected to the internet, although my browser seems to think that I'm not connected to the internet, and pops up with that annoying "You are currently not connected to the internet. Work offline? Try Again?" Each time I click "try again", the browser connects, but it's ridiculously slow, and that pisses me off.

So, what do I do besides 1). Get a new fucking browser, 2). Update, or 3). Threaten various members of Microsoft?

Ideas are appreciated from all 6 of you.
